Ripple, another virtual currency surging ahead, 100 percent value increase in last week

San Francisco: The popularity of virtual currencies has become so wide that it is creating new billionaires. Usually, when we speak about Virtual currencies, most of them think it’s about bitcoins but there are other virtual currencies too which are creating buzz.

As per the news published in Economic Times, One such virtual currencies is Ripple, whose co-founder, Chris Larsen is the largest holder of Ripple tokens with worth more than $59 billion. The figures are latest as per the Forbes. That would have briefly vaulted Larsen ahead of Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg into fifth place on the Forbes list of the world’s richest people.

The value of Ripple has increased abruptly more than 100 percent last week. During the last year, its value has increased more than 30,000 percent.

With such a huge increase in its value, Ripple has become second largest virtual currency. One Ripple token is now worth $2.89, which on paper seems like a paltry sum compared to the $15,334 price of a single bitcoin.

As per the information provided on inverse.com, in the U.S., only Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett, and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg are comfortably ahead of him.

Most of the currencies were nothing during the last year but now they are creating new billionaires.

Jeremy Gardner, an investor who previously worked at the virtual currency hedge fund Blockchain Capital, which invested in Ripple said that “This is beyond insane.”

He further added that “There’s absolutely nothing driving this rally except rampant fear of missing out (FOMO), misinformation, and speculation.”

Fodder scam case: Lalu Prasad Yadav handed jail term of 3.5 years, imposed Rs 10 lakh fine

Lalu was convicted by a CBI court on December 23, 2017, and has been lodged in Birsa Munda prison since then. The case pertains to the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from Deoghar Treasury when Lalu was the CM of Bihar between 1991 and 1994.

A special CBI court on Saturday handed former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav a jail term of 3.5 years and imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh in connection with a Rs 950 crore fodder scam case, the RJD supremo’s lawyer, Prabhat Kumar said. Kumar said they would seek bail for Lalu from Jharkhand High Court. Other convicts Phool Chand, Mahesh Prasad, Bake Julious, Sunil Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Sudhir Kumar and Raja Ram were also sentenced to 3.5 years in jail and a fine of Rs 5 lakh each was imposed. The hearing concluded on Saturday and all the 15 convicts, including the RJD supremo, appeared via video conferencing.

There are a total of six cases related to the scam, which are being probed by authorities. Saturday’s hearing on the quantum of sentence pertains to the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from Deoghar Treasury when Lalu was the CM of Bihar between 1991 and 1994.

Lalu was convicted by the court on December 23, 2017, and has been lodged in Birsa Munda prison since then. The court had found his predecessor and former CM of Bihar Jagannath Mishra not guilty and acquitted him of all charges.

In the wake of the court’s ruling, senior members of the RJD are expected to meet today to discuss the party’s strategy and the “emerging political situation.” The meeting will be chaired by former Bihar CM and Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi. According to the party’s state president Ramchandra Purve, Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of Opposition and Lalu’s son, is likely to become the party’s CM face for the 2020 Assembly post. A controversy emerged during the hearing on Thursday after the CBI judge Shivpal Singh claimed that he had received phone calls from Lalu’s men – a charge dismissed by the RJD leaders.

In the mid-90s, the embezzlement of government treasury funds to non-existent companies for the purchase and supply of cattle fodder in Bihar was unearthed. It happened during the Lalu’s tenure as chief minister, forcing him to resign from the post.

In the first fodder scam case, Lalu was sentenced to five years in jail. Due to his conviction, he was debarred from contesting elections for 11 years.

The plan previously offered 1.5GB data per day. However, it was recently revised to give users 2GB daily data.

Vodafone users who need 1.5GB 4G/3G data per day for 28 days will have to recharge with the company’s Rs 349 plan. Nokia is leaking Nokia 9

Nokia p is certainly one of the most anticipated phones from the company. The phone is supposed to be the first phone from Nokia that will come with a bezel-design. We already know about may details about phone because the phone has been leaked so many times.

Adding an entry to the list, the phone was leaked today again on Weibo where it was spotted by 91mobiles. The leak is in form of a render and it shows what the phone might look like from the front. The phone will largly look like Nokia 8 but the front of the phone will be mostly dedicated to its display which will be stretched from its top to bottom. Apart from this, the leak also suggested that Nokia 9 will come with 2 selfie cameras on the front.

The phone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC which will be paired with 4 or 6 GB of RAM. Also, the phone will come with 128GB if internal storage. On the back, the phone will have 2 cameras, the first one will be a 12 MP sensor and the second one will be a 13-megapixel sensor.

Apart from these hardware features, HMD will probably include telephoto zoom and wide-angle shots to the phone. Nokia 9 will house a 3250 mAh battery and will support fast charging with a 18W adapter which will be included in the box.

Considering the phone is made to compete with high-end phones such as Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone X, it will be interesting to see how the phone performs in the market.

An Android malware has been targeting over 232 banking apps including HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, Quick Heal Security Labs has detected. Here's the list of all Indian banking apps and tips to stay safe.

An Android malware has been targeting over 232 banking apps including SBI, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, Quick Heal Security Labs has detected. According to the IT solution provider, an Android Banking Trojan has been targeting more than 232 banking apps including those offered by Indian banks.

The banking malware is designed for stealing login credentials, hijacking SMSs, uploading contact lists and SMSs on a malicious server, displaying an overlay screen (to capture details) on top of legitimate apps and carrying out other such malicious activities.

The malware is known as Android.banker.A2f8a (Previously detected as Android.banker.A9480), according to Quick Heal Security Labs. The new malware is being distributed through a fake Flash Player app on third-party stores. “This is not surprising given that Adobe Flash is one of the most widely distributed products on the Internet. Because of its popularity and global install base, it is often targeted by attackers,” the IT solution company said in a statement.

The company has said that the malware throws continuous pop-ups, even if administrative rights are declined. “After installing the malicious app, it will ask the user to activate administrative rights. And even if the user denies the request or kills the process, the app will keep throwing continuous pop-ups until the user activates the admin privilege. Once this is done, the malicious app hides its icon soon after the user taps on it,” the company said.

If anyone of the targeted apps is found on the infected device, the app shows a fake notification on behalf of the targeted banking app. If the user clicks on the notification, they are shown a fake login screen to steal the user’s confidential info like net banking login ID and password.
